Soki..

Soki is a young lady who I was introduced to by a friend living in one of the communities we work in. She's a mother of 3 and lives with them plus her little brother.

She is a stay at home mum and so doesn't do anything to earn a living. Soki said she has to fully depend on her husband who works far away from home and comes back twice a month. This makes her worry about their family's situation.

After getting to know her better, I told her about the opportunity to learn sandals at Musizi Joy Foundation offices so she can earn some income herself.

Soki was interested and joined the project with hope, excitement and is determined to learn.

She's now ready to make her own sandals for sale after completing the training and has even made a pair for one of her children as a sample. Soki is hopeful that she can also do work from home and help cover some expenses at home.
